*The audition workshop is not mandatory, but highly encouraged for anyone auditioning for youth roles.
This workshop will help students prepare for our upcoming Charlie and the Chocolate Factory auditions but also serves as an excellent way to hone your auditioning skills!

WHAT TO PREPARE
Music

40-60 seconds of a Broadway style song of your choice

Songs from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory are permitted. ​

Must have accompaniment (either sheet music or karaoke track)

Pianist will be provided.

Bluetooth speaker will be provided.

Magic Trick or Joke!

We ask that everyone auditioning prepare a simple magic trick or joke to perform!

Dance
-
A dance call will take place at the top of auditions.
​
There is no need to prepare a monologue. We will have sides to cold-read.

Willy Wonka (Age 30-50)
The sly, charming star of the show. Lithe, eccentric. Larger than life persona can go from charming and comical, to magically mysterious and dark.

Sweet, smart, hopeful and loving. A boy with wonderful innocence and vulnerability.

Grandpa Joe (Age 50-75)
Impish. He is Charlie’s imaginative, fun, kind and loving grandfather. After many years being confined to a bed, his childish energy returns when Charlie finds the Golden Ticket.

Charlie’s warm and kind-hearted mother. Worrier. Generous and loving.

Veruca’s goofy, eccentric, distracted, hilarious father. Finds it impossible to say no, giving in to every ridiculous demand his daughter makes. Russian accent.

Vicious and determined. Ballet skills a plus.

REGARDING AGES: Ages are how the character will be perceived and not necessarily the age of the actor.
